Stoneham, MA - Peace of Art, a global traveling art exhibit, is now on display at the Stoneham Public Library, located at 431 Main Street, Stoneham.  The exhibit will be open to the public until March 31st.  A reception is scheduled for Wednesday, March 24th from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., catering courtesy of TS Café & Salad, Etc, located at 319 Main Street, Stoneham.

"The art is very eye catching and though provoking, sure to inspire discussion amongst different people.  It is visually intense. When looking at the art work I feel sadness and it makes me thing how the work is today and what we must do to make it better from a global perspective.  the library never had anything like this before." stated  Mary Todd The director of the library.  Maureen Saltzman."

Peace of Art was created by internationally known artist Daniel Varoujan Hejinian.  Over the years, he has contributed to many worthy charities with his art, but Peace of Art goes a step further and projects his efforts onto the global arena. This art exhibit is comprised of twenty one  pieces which combine superb artistry and eloquently expresses realities of the society we live in. Each art work is a reflection of humanity and we find ourselves within the confines of the artist's creation.   Maureen Saltzman, reference librarian, said that "the drawings are intricate and unique." This exhibit is an excellent learning tool for people of all ages to appreciate art, ponder upon the theme of each art work and get inspired.

Peace of Art global exhibit was first launched in Massachusetts, in September 2003 at the Armenian Library and Museum of America in Watertown, and since then it has been shown at the Joseph Driscoll Gallery at the Brockton Library, at the Doric Hall in the State House in Boston, Gallery Z in Providence RI.  Bringing Peace of Art to Stoneham was of special significance to Mr.Hejinian who is art director for Clear Channel Outdoor, a Stoneham based company.

In April Peace of Art will be exhibited at the Grand Concourse, South Station Building, intersection of Summer Street and Atlantic Ave., Boston. From May 1st to June 30th, the exhibit will be held at Councilors Chambers, Boston City Hall, Government Center, Boston. In August the exhibit will be housed at Chelmsford Public Library.
