PEACE of ART AWARD

Every year Peace of Art, Inc., issues an award to the best student essay about Peace of Art. Students may choose to write about one individual piece or about the Peace of Art collection as a whole. This educational program combines the visual arts with the written word of students.


Conduct Exhibitions

Peace of Art collection, a group of twenty-one paintings each representing a human concern, such as hunger, homelessness, deportation, which set the stage to bring awareness to global human condition.

Peace of Art will be exhibited in fine art Galleries, museums, public and private libraries, government and public buildings, in the United States and welcoming countries abroad.


Conduct Lecturers

Peace of Art collection will be used as the starting point, teachers / professors local educational institutions and/or human services agencies will be invited to get involved in the exhibit along with their students, to conduct lecturers, open dialogue about the themes presented by the art work. The focus may be placed on one particular piece of art work addressing a particular issue of human concern, or address the themes presented in the collection as a whole.


Raise Funds

Peace of Art exhibits may be conducted in conjunction with other local organizations to raise funds for programs that address the human condition and may include, but not be limited to art exhibits.


Peace of Music

Under the broad theme Peace of Music, the artist will create art work as a live performance in conjunction with a live orchestra. At the end of the performance, the art work work created will be auctioned off to benefit programs in the arts including but not limited to Peace of Art.


Partnership with Supporting Organizations & Business

Each piece of art work in the Peace of Art collection can be the central piece for an exhibit. For example, Peace of Bread, addresses the issue of hunger. Under the theme of Hunger, Peace of Art would partner with local human services agencies that address hunger such as the local food bank, or soup kitchens. Individuals associated with such organizations in both capacities as service providers and clients would be invited to talk about the impact of hunger in society, share their views and present their solutions to the problem.
