Peace of Art at Z Gallery
Varoujan's Peace of Art
by Rosario Teixeira
Providence, RI
From February 16th to March 12th, Daniel Varoujan Hejinian's Peace of Art will be available for viewing at the Z Gallery, located at 17 Amherst Street, Providence, RI. Peace of Art is a global traveling exhibit comprised of twenty one pieces which address human condition. Independent of political or religious dogma, Peace of Art intends to foster understanding for human suffering and promote dialogue. Peace of Art combines superb artistry and eloquently expresses realities of the society we live in. Each art work is a reflection of humanity and we find ourselves within the confines of the artist's creation. The art work may be viewed at www.PeaceofArt.org.
Peace of Art global exhibit was first launched in Massachusetts, in September 2003 at the Armenian Library and Museum of America in Watertown. Since then it has been shown at the Joseph Driscoll Gallery at the Brockton Library, and at the Doric Hall in the State House in Boston, under the sponsorship of Representative David Nangle.
In the upcoming months, Peace of Art will be exhibited at the Stoneham Library in March, at the Grand Concourse, South Station Building in Boston in April, at Boston City Hall in May, and at Chelmsford Public Library in August. We continue to schedule exhibits in welcoming cities and towns in the United States before bringing this exhibit to welcoming countries.
